OptQuestTM

AnyLogicTM 5.0 integrates the powerful OptQuestTM optimization algorithm that has been shown to be an extremely effective method for finding optimal and excellent solutions for even the most challenging non-linear model structures.  The highly efficient OptQuestTM optimization algorithm is seamlessly integrated into the AnyLogicTM simulation framework and supports a wide range of optimization structures complete with constraints and optimization under uncertainty.

External Optimization Routines

In addition to the native OptQuestTM optimization routine, the extensible nature of AnyLogicTM allows for the integration of a wide variety of optimization approaches including both linear and non-linear optimization algorithms written in Java.

Genetic Algorithms

AnyLogicTM users have the ability to use the native Genetic Algorithm capabilities that are built into the OptQuestTM optimization routine, or they can utilize custom genetic algorithms or third party Java implementations.  Genetic Algorithms have proven to be extremely capable for handling complex non-linear systems under uncertainty.  As the following graphic demonstrates, Genetic Algorithms provide a powerful tool for identifying optimal inputs or solutions, and demonstrate considerable progress over time.
